Sky Sports reporter: Man United face competition to sign 25-year-old
Man United are set to face competition from a number of clubs to sign Fred this summer, say reports

Manchester United are poised to face competition from a number of top European clubs for the signature of Fred, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.
The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a move to sign the 25-year-old Brazilian midfielder in recent days as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his squad ahead of next season.
Manchester United are believed to be on the lookout for a number of signings this summer as Mourinho looks to bring the Premier League trophy back to Old Trafford for the first time since 2013.
The Old Trafford outfit are widely reported to be the leading candidates to sign Fred this summer, but Sheth has revealed that they are not the only club keen on landing the Shakhtar Donetsk star.
Speaking on the Sky Sports Transfer Centre podcast, Sheth said: “He is a good age at 25.
“He isn’t the tallest. He is 5ft 6ins. He is a ball playing holding midfielder.
“Capped seven times for Brazil. He helped Shakthar to reach the Champions League last 16 and only lost on away goals.
“He is a highly rated. He is wanted around Europe.”
Manchester United endured something of a disappointing second campaign under Mourinho this term.
The Red Devils ended up second in the Premier League table as they missed out on a trophy after losing the FA Cup final to Chelsea FC at Wembley last month.
Manchester United had won the Europa League and League Cup in Mourinho’s first campaign at the club.
