Gary Neville predicts where Man United will finish this season under Jose Mourinho
Gary Neville is convinced that Manchester United are in line to finish second in the Premier League this season

Gary Neville is convinced that Manchester United are in line to finish second in the Premier League this season – and insists that would represent significant progress for the club.
The Red Devils currently find themselves in second place in the Premier League table and trying to catch runaway leaders Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola’s men have been the standout Premier League team this season, with the Citizens currently 11 points clear at the top of the table, having only dropped two points in their first 18 games.
Manchester United will of course be hoping to see their bitter local rivals slip up as the race for the Premier League title hots up.
However, former Red Devils defender Neville seems to be prepared for his side to finish second, and insists that would represent a solid campaign under Jose Mourinho, especially after their sixth-placed finish last term.
Speaking to Sky Sports on Sunday, ex-defender Neville said: “Second [place] would be progression.
“I know that’s not good enough when you spend the money that’s been spent over the last four or five years at the club and [with] Jose Mourinho coming in to win the league.
“We shouldn’t say that it’s acceptable but at this moment in time I think it’s the best United can get. I think Jose would take it.”
Manchester United are preparing to take on Bristol City in the quarter-finals of the League Cup on Wednesday night.
The Red Devils will then turn their attentions back towards Premier League affairs and their trip to Leicester City on Saturday night in their last game before Christmas.
