Gary Neville is confident that Manchester United have what it takes to catch Manchester City and win the Premier League title this season.
The Red Devils are aiming to try and beat their bitter local rivals to the title this season as Jose Mourinho eyes his first top-flight trophy as manager at Old Trafford.
Manchester United struggled to find consistent form in the Premier League last season as they eventually ended up in sixth place in the table.
However, they did manage to secure Champions League qualification by winning the Europa League in Mourinho’s first campaign in charge at the club.
The Red Devils were in impressive form as they sealed a 3-1 win over Arsenal in the Premier League at The Emirates last weekend.
Manchester United have the chance to close the gap to leaders Manchester City down to just five points when they take on Pep Guardiola’s men at Old Trafford in Sunday’s crunch derby clash.
And former Manchester United defender Neville feels that the Red Devils have what it takes to challenge for the title all the way this season.
Speaking on his podcast on Sky Sports, Neville said: “The only team that could catch Man City is Man United. I get more confidence saying that from Saturday evening [the win over Arsenal].”
Manchester United have not won the title since the 2012-13 campaign under Sir Alex Ferguson.
