Man United leading the race to sign talented 14-year-old – report
Man United are keen on a deal to sign 14-year-old attacking midfielder Isak Hansen-Aaroen, according to reports
Manchester United are leading the way to sign Norwegian teenager Isak Hansen-Aaroen, according to reports in Norway.
Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News, is reporting that the Red Devils have already opened talks with Hansen-Aaroen’s current club, Tromso.
The same story claims that Manchester United hope to fend off competition from Premier League rivals Liverpool FC and Everton in the race to sign the teenager.
The article also reports that Tromso’s director of football, Svein-Morten Johansen, and secretary, Kristian Hoydal, are to travel to Manchester to continue talks as negotiations progress.
The same article says that Hansen-Aaroen is only eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement with Man United due to his young age. However, he would be cleared to move to the club on the day of his 16th birthday.
The story also suggests that Hansen-Aaroen is a boyhood Manchester United supporter, which if true, could certainly make negotiations easier for the Red Devils.
Isak Hansen-Aaroen is an attacking midfielder and it is reported in the same story that he had trials with Liverpool FC two years ago after his performances at the Audi Cup caught scouts’ attentions.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are currently preparing for their home clash against Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon at Old Trafford.
