Reporter rules out Man United signing 29-year-old from Bayern Munich
German reporter Christian Falk claims Jerome Boateng has turned down the chance to sign for Man United this summer

Jerome Boateng has personally telephoned Jose Mourinho to inform him that he is not interested in a transfer to Manchester United this summer, according to German reporter Christian Falk.
The Red Devils are believed to be on the lookout for defensive reinforcements this summer as they look to make some further additions to their squad before the close of the transfer window on Thursday afternoon.
The 29-year-old Germany international had been touted as a possible target for Manchester United as they look to bring in a new defender before the deadline.
However, Bild reporter Falk has now claimed that Boateng has turned down the chance to move to Manchester United this summer and has personally informed Mourinho about his decision.
Falk wrote on Twitter: “Exclusive: Jerome Boateng called Jose Mourinho to tell him personally that he is grateful for the interest, but he won’t come to Manchester. No Transfer to @ManUtd.”
Manchester United have been linked with moves for a number of defenders including Toby Alderweireld and Harry Maguire in recent days.
The Red Devils are looking to build a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next season after they finished in second place in the table and without a trophy in Mourinho’s second campaign in charge.
They will get the Premier League season under way when they host Leicester City in the curtain-raiser at Old Trafford on Friday night.
