Jose Mourinho: What went wrong for Chelsea FC against Man United
Jose Mourinho has his say on Chelsea FC's performance in their 4-0 loss to Man United on Sunday

Jose Mourinho claimed that Chelsea FC were “too soft” during their 4-0 defeat by Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
The Blues endured an afternoon to forget at Old Trafford in their first Premier League game since Frank Lampard was appointed as the club’s new manager back in July.
Two goals from Marcus Rashford and strikes from Anthony Martial and new signing Daniel James handed the Red Devils a dominant win over the Blues at Old Trafford.
Chelsea FC were in control for large spells of the game but their weaknesses at the back allowed Manchester United to run away with a big margin of victory.
And Mourinho admitted that the Blues struggled defensively against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team at Old Trafford.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Mourinho said: “They [Chelsea FC] were too soft. They were not compact defensively. Too much space and not enough aggression on the ball.
“The distances between the defensive lines, the midfield and the attack – they were never compact.”
Lampard also spoke to Sky Sports after the game and said: “Four mistakes for the goals. We have to be self-critical for that. We controlled the first half hour but made some poor decisions. We should be in the lead at the break.
“It is easier for them to play at 2-0 3-0. I can’t look at it and be happy.”
Chelsea FC do not have too long to lick their wounds as they prepare for their Uefa Super Cup clash against Liverpool FC in Istanbul on Wednesday night.
The Blues will then play their first home game of the season in the Premier League when they host Leicester City next Sunday afternoon.
Chelsea FC are looking to keep their place in the top four this season after they finished third last term.
