Jose Mourinho wants Manchester United to complete this signing of Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk this week, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Express is reporting that the Manchester United boss is keen for the Red Devils to start their summer recruitment drive by securing the signature of the 25-year-old Brazilian midfielder.
Manchester United are believed to be on the lookout for a number of signings this summer as Mourinho looks to try and assemble a team capable of winning the Premier League title next season.
The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a move to sign Fred in recent days as Manchester United to bolster their squad.
According to the same story, Fred is currently in the UK as he prepares for a World Cup warm up game against Croatia on Sunday.
And the Red Devils are reportedly keen to secure the signing of Fred while he is in the country.
Manchester United finished second in the Premier League this season and missed the chance to end the campaign with a trophy when they were beaten by Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
The Red Devils have not won the Premier League since their famous final triumph under Sir Alex Ferguson back in 2013.
