Juan Mata sends honest message to Man United fans
Juan Mata has his say on his decision to renew his contract with Manchester United over the summer

Juan Mata has lifted the lid on his decision to sign a new contract at Manchester United this season.
The playmaker was linked with a move away from Old Trafford in the summer months but he signed a new deal to keep him at the club until June 2021 with the option to extend for a further year back in June.
Mata has won the FA Cup, a League Cup, the Europa League and Community Shield since signing for the Blues from Chelsea FC back in January 2014.
The 31-year-old is yet to start for Manchester United this season, with the Spaniard having come on as a late substitute in all three of the Red Devils’ games so far this season.
Now, the former Chelsea FC star has lifted the lid on his decision to extend his stay at Old Trafford despite having been linked with a move away.
Writing in his blog posted on Manchester United’s website, Mata said: “Given the situation, it perhaps would have been easier to leave, to accept that I did not arrive at Manchester United at the best point in their history, and not renew.
“However, I believed, and still believe, that it was worthwhile to stay, to work so that this club returns to fighting for big trophies.
“I want to be here, working so that Manchester United can get back to what it used to be. This is my mentality and the idea I have in mind.
“I feel that this was also the mentality of the people who made this great club what it is, and that is why it is so unique and special.”
Mata will be hoping to be involved for Manchester United when the Red Devils take on Southampton away from home on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League.
The Red Devils have only taken four points from their opening three Premier League games this season.
