Juan Mata discusses Manchester United's Premier League title chances this season
Juan Mata is convinced that Manchester United have what it takes to win the Premier League title this season.
The Red Devils have made a flying start to the new campaign and have won all three of their opening games in the top flight under new boss Jose Mourinho.
Manchester United have secured impressive victories over West Ham United, Swansea City and Leicester to move top of the Premier League table and set the pace early on in the top flight.
Mourinho’s men are preparing for a tricky trip to the bet365 Stadium to take on Stoke City on Saturday evening.
But Mata is convinced that the Red Devils have what it takes to win the title for the first time this season since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement back in 2013.
Mata is quoted as saying by Metro: “The belief is always there.
“When you play for such a club you start every competition believing that you can win it.
“Some bad games didn’t allow us to win it last year, but we need to find that consistency that can make us fight in the last months and be one of those teams that will be up there.
“It’s the second year for the manager, he knows everyone better, we know each other better, so let’s try.
“We’re really pleased with our start, but it’s only a start. We’ve won three games with confidence and good football.”
Manchester United’s form in the Premier League last season left a lot to be desired, as the Red Devils finished sixth in the table in Mourinho’s first campaign in charge.
