Pundit: Jurgen Klopp would get best out of Man United stars
Danny Murphy says Jurgen Klopp would be better at getting the best out of the likes of Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba than Jose Mourinho
Danny Murphy has claimed that Jurgen Klopp would get the best out of the likes of Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba at Manchester United.
Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho has found himself under pressure already this season after his side slumped to a surprise 3-2 loss to Brighton and Hove Albion in the top flight on Sunday afternoon.
Mourinho will be looking to get the best out of the the likes of Martial and Pogba this season as he bids to try and lead his Manchester United side to a Premier League title challenge.
Liverpool FC, meanwhile, have made a brilliant start to the new season under Klopp, with the Reds having won their opening two games against Crystal Palace and West Ham United.
And Murphy feels that the likes of Klopp and Guardiola would be better at getting the best out of some of Manchester United’s stars than Mourinho.
Speaking in an interview with bwin, Murphy said: “I think [Jurgen] Klopp and [Pep] Guardiola would definitely get more out of players like [Paul] Pogba and [Anthony] Martial.
“Mourinho shows too much respect to lesser opposition instead of trusting the wealth of attacking options he has to score the goals that will get them the win.
“However, Mourinho has proven people wrong before and I think he will prove them wrong again this season.”
Manchester United will look to return to winning ways in the Premier League on Monday night when they take on Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils have not won the Premier League since their final triumph under Sir Alex Ferguson back in 2013.
