Manchester United are willing to shell out up to €90m (£79m) to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid this summer, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish outlet Don Balon is reporting that the Red Devils are ready to make a move to try and bring the out-of-favour striker to Old Trafford this summer.

Manchester United are thought to be on the lookout for several attacking reinforcements this summer, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic currently out injured and Wayne Rooney’s future at the club unclear.

The report states that Manchester United have been forced to change their summer plans after Atletico Madrid’s transfer ban was upheld, making it unlikely that the Spanish side would be willing to part company with prime target Antoine Griezmann.

The story states that Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho has now turned to Morata and wants to bring the Spaniard to Old Trafford with a return to the Champions League looming.

Morata has struggled for game-time at Real Madrid this season but has still managed to score 20 goals in all competitions this season, despite making just 13 La Liga starts under Zinedine Zidane.
