Gary Neville delivers verdict on 21-year-old Man United forward
Manchester United legend Gary Neville is backing Anthony Martial to have a big impact from the bench this season

Gary Neville has backed Anthony Martial to come off the bench and have a big impact in Manchester United’s games this season.
The France international endured a difficult second season at Old Trafford following the appointment of Jose Mourinho as Louis van Gaal’s successor.
Martial scored 11 times in 49 games in his first term as a Manchester United player after Van Gaal paid £36m to sign the forward from AS Monaco.
However, Mourinho used the 21-year-old sparingly last term and the Red Devils boss wasn’t afraid to criticise the ex Lyon striker for his work ethic.
Martial was linked with Serie A duo Inter Milan and AS Roma earlier in the summer transfer window, while Tottenham Hotspur were rumoured to have made an audacious attempt to sign the Manchester United forward.
But the Red Devils star has started the new season with a flurry after coming off the bench to score in both of Manchester United’s 4-0 victories over West Ham and Swansea City.
The club’s former right-back Neville believes Martial loss in great form despite a difficult first season under Mourinho.
“He is a brilliant finisher,” Neville told Monday Night Football on Sky Sports.
“His composure in front of goal is fantastic. He looks ready to come in [and have an impact]. Martial is doing well.”
Manchester United will face CSKA Moscow, Basel and Benfica in the Champions League group stage.
