Ashley Young looked to silence Manchester United’s critics on Twitter after Saturday’s 1-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils were looking to make a swift return to winning ways in Saturday’s early kick-off in the Premier League following a two-game winless run.
Manchester United dropped points in a disappointing 0-0 draw with bitter rivals Liverpool at Anfield before a surprise 2-1 loss to promoted side Huddersfield Town at John Smith’s Stadium last weekend.
The 20-time English champions welcomed a Tottenham side to Old Trafford after the north London side were emphatic 4-1 winners against Liverpool last Sunday.
Manchester United struggled to make the breakthrough against a resilient Spurs team, although Harry Kane’s absence helped the Red Devils’ bid to return to winning ways.
Anthony Martial replaced Marcus Rashford in the second half and the France international scored an 81st-minute winner with a scruffy finish at Old Trafford.
And Young couldn’t resist a cheeky dig at Manchester United’s critics following their title-boosting win.
Young wrote on Twitter: “Great Team Spirit. Very Good Result. Talk is Cheap ”
Manchester United are looking to win their first Premier League title since 2013 when Sir Alex Ferguson led the Red Devils to their 20th top-flight crown.
The Manchester outfit signed Romelu Lukaku, Nemanja Matic and Victor Lindelof in the summer transfer window.
