Danny Murphy is backing Manchester United to win the Premier League title this season.
The Red Devils are looking to win their first Premier League crown since Sir Alex Ferguson stood down as manager in 2013.
Manchester United made an impressive start to the season following a run of six victories and one stalemate in their opening seven games.
Indeed, the 20-time English champions scored 21 times and kept six clean sheets to keep pace with Manchester City at the top of the table ahead of their trip to Anfield.
Jose Mourinho’s men settled for a point in a 0-0 draw with Liverpool on Merseyside as the Red Devils adopted a conservative approach to the bitter clash.
Manchester United lost ground on Manchester City as the Citizens were resounding 7-2 winners against Stoke City at The Etihad.
The Red Devils lost further ground on their title rivals on Saturday following a shock 2-1 loss to promoted side Huddersfield Town to leave Mourinho’s men five points adrift.
Former Liverpool midfielder Murphy revealed that his tip to win the Premier League title is Manchester United despite his former rivalry with the Old Trafford outfit.
“I’ve tipped Manchester United. Their squad is phenomenal,” Murphy told BBC Radio 5 Live.
Manchester United are the most successful club in Premier League history after winning the title 13 times under Ferguson’s management.
The Red Devils signed Benfica defender Victor Lindelof, Everton striker Romelu Lukaku and Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic in the summer transfer window.
