Graeme Souness names Man United star as ‘best in the world’ in his position
The Liverpool legend believes Manchester United number one David De Gea is the best goalkeeper in the world

Graeme Souness has hailed Manchester United’s David De Gea as the best goalkeeper in the world.
The Spanish shot stopper has made a brilliant start to the 2017-18 season following a run of seven clean sheets in eight games in the Premier League so far this season.
Manchester United have the best defensive record after conceding just two goals this term after the Red Devils played out a 2-2 draw with Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium.
De Gea was in particularly brilliant form at Anfield last weekend as the Manchester United number one managed to keep out Joel Matip’s close-range attempt in a world-class save.
Former Liverpool captain Souness hailed De Gea as the world’s best goalkeeper following the 25-year-old’s superb performance at the home of Manchester United’s bitter rivals.
“He is a top goalkeeper,” Souness told Sky Sports.
“He is arguably the best goalkeeper around. He is so light on his feet.”
Manchester United signed De Gea in a £18m deal from Spanish giants Atletico Madrid in 2011.
De Gea was part of the last Manchester United team to win the Premier League in 2013.
The Spanish shot stopper won the club’s player of the season for three successive campaigns before missing out to Antonio Valencia last term.
