Eric Bailly: Man United star ‘best in the world’ in his position
The Manchester United defender hails David De Gea as the best goalkeeper in the world

Eric Bailly believes Manchester United have the world’s best goalkeeper in David De Gea.
The Spain international has established himself as the Premier League’s best shot stopper over the past three or four seasons at Old Trafford despite a difficult start to his Manchester United career.
De Gea won the Premier League title in 2013 thanks to his impressive performance, while the Manchester United number one has been voted the club’s player of the season in three of the past four campaigns.
The 25-year-old has been regularly linked with a move to La Liga giants Real Madrid but a deal has failed to materialise despite persistent speculation.
De Gea has already kept six clean sheets in seven games in the Premier League this season, with the only blemish on his record a 2-2 draw at Stoke City.
Manchester United defender Bailly underlined just how important De Gea is to the club’s title ambitions this season.
“It’s a good thing for us to have, in my opinion, the best defender, the best goalkeeper in the world,” Bailly told Manchester United’s website.
“That gives us so much more confidence going into a match.
“David is very, very, very important for everything we do.
“The goalkeeper instills confidence not just in the defenders but in the whole team, so that’s why I think David is very important to the whole team.”
De Gea moved to Manchester United in a £17m deal from Spanish giants Atletico Madrid in the 2011 summer transfer window.
The Red Devils will make the trip to bitter rivals Liverpool in their next Premier League game at Anfield next Saturday.
