Eric Bailly opens up about Man United’s ‘huge motivation’ to win the title
The Manchester United defender unveils the Red Devils' big motivation to win more silverware this season

Eric Bailly has revealed that Manchester United have a “huge motivation” to win the Premier League title after getting their hands on some silverware last term.
The Ivory Coast international helped the Red Devils to ease a 3-2 win against Southampton in the League Cup final at Wembley last season.
Bailly was also part of the Manchester United defence that kept a clean sheet in a 2-0 victory over Dutch giants Ajax in the Europa League final in Stockholm back in May.
The 24-year-old was partnered alongside Daley Blind, Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo and Chris Smalling last season as Jose Mourinho contended with a number of injuries to his key defenders last term.
However, Bailly has forged a formidable partnership with England international Jones at the back this season to help Manchester United keep pace with current leaders Manchester City.
The Ivorian defender is eager to get his hands on more silverware following Manchester United success in the 2016-17 season.
“It’s not so much that it helps as that it motivates,” Bailly told Man United’s website.
“Winning a trophy is very important and I think that, with the trophies we’ve won, it’s a huge motivation to win even more.
“It’s what we always have in mind: to have the desire, the aim to win several trophies because it’s a good thing for a player’s career.”
Manchester United haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013 when Sir Alex Ferguson got his hands on his 13th top-flight crown.
The Red Devils haven’t fought for the title since Ferguson’s retirement and have only finished in the top four twice.
