Eric Bailly is backing Manchester United to win the Premier League title this season.

The Red Devils have made an impressive start to the 2017-18 season following a return of 19 points from their opening seven games in the Premier League.

Manchester United have scored 21 times and have kept six clean sheets to lay down a big marker in the Premier League title race as Jose Mourinho’s men continue to impress both in attack and defence.

The Portuguese coach has helped to develop a ruthless edge in his Manchester United team and the Red Devils have generally been in devastating form in the final 10 minutes of their games.

Indeed, 10 of their 21 goals in the Premier League have been scored after the 80-minute mark to hark back to a theme that was common during the glory days under Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson.

And Bailly believes Manchester Untied’s new-found ability to pick teams off in the latter stages of Premier League games will help the Red Devils to win the title this term.

“It shows promise because, compared with the team last year, it was more difficult then. Even though we had no bad performances, this year there’s something new that has improved, so we are happy about that,” Bailly told Manchester United’s website.

“I hope that will continue because this year we can see a huge progression compared with last season. This year there is more desire, more success at everything we do.

“It’s important to see the team starting off well in top form, and I think that with the work we’ve done, and the work by the manager and the staff, we’ll continue the way we’ve begun and that will lead us to the Premier League title.”

Manchester United will make the trip to bitter rivals Liverpool in their next Premier League game at Anfield on Saturday 14 October.

The Red Devils are looking to win their first Premier League crown since 2013.
