Gary Neville sends ‘stunned’ message to Man United fans about Jose Mourinho
Manchester United legend Gary Neville admits he was worried to hear Jose Mourinho question the application of his Red Devils players

Gary Neville has admitted that he was stunned by Jose Mourinho’s comments regarding Manchester United’s lack of commitment in Saturday’s shock 2-1 loss at Huddersfield Town.
The Red Devils slumped to their first Premier League defeat of the season at the John Smith Stadium following goals from Aaron Mooy and Laurent Depoitre in the first half.
Manchester United managed to halve the deficit after Romelu Lukaku teed up Marcus Rashford to make it 2-1 but Huddersfield Town managed to hang on to secure three points.
The Red Devils have only managed to secure one point from their last two Premier League games following a goalless stalemate with Liverpool at Anfield earlier this month.
Manchester United were also disappointing in a 1-0 win at Benfica in the Champions League on Wednesday night to raise concerns about their dip in performance level.
Mourinho conceded that his Manchester United players showed a lack of appetite during their shock 2-1 loss to promoted side Huddersfield Town last weekend.
Former Manchester United defender Neville spoke of his concern that Mourinho came out and publicly questioned his players’ commitment.
“I thought it would be tough for United because of the atmosphere but I also thought they’d come through it. I was stunned by the result,” Neville told Sky Sports.
“I was stunned also by Jose Mourinho’s comments afterwards about the application of the players, saying it was the worst he’s seen them up for the game.”
Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last season but won the League Cup and the Europa League.
