Juan Mata sends message to Man United fans about Liverpool FC stalemate
The Manchester United midfielder was pleased with Saturday's goalless draw with Liverpool

Juan Mata credited Manchester United’s stalemate with Liverpool a direct result of hard work.
The Red Devils left Anfield with a point following a goalless draw with Liverpool at Anfield in Saturday afternoon.
Manchester United managed to frustrate Liverpool’s attack and David De Gea pulled off a world-class save from Joel Matip when the home side were finally able to penetrate.
The Red Devils were criticised for showing a lack of adventure on Merseyside despite the goalless draw maintaining their unbeaten start to the 2017-18 season.
Manchester United are two points adrift of leaders Manchester City heading into their Champions League clash against Benfica at the Estadio de Luz on Wednesday.
Mata was pleased with Manchester United’s goalless draw with Liverpool at Anfield despite the negativity surrounding the result.
“The draw at Anfield on Saturday was the consequence of the team’s hard work and solidarity,” Mata wrote on his personal blog.
“Obviously, we wanted to win, but it’s not a bad result given the circumstances. We added one point and got a clean sheet, and now we are already focused on the Champions League.”
Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last season but won the League Cup and the Europa League.
The Red Devils signed Benfica defender Victor Lindelof, Everton striker Romelu Lukaku and Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic in the summer transfer window.
Jose Mourinho is bidding to become the first manager to lead Manchester United to the Premier League title since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement.
