Rio Ferdinand singles out Man United duo for praise: They’re combining again
The Man United legend was pleased to see Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial combine for the Red Devils

Rio Ferdinand credited Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial with getting Manchester United back on track after Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
The Red Devils were looking to end a two-game winless run in the Premier League following a goalless stalemate with Liverpool at Anfield earlier this month before last weekend’s 2-1 loss to promoted side Huddersfield Town at John Smith’s Stadium.
Jose Mourinho opted to start with Lukaku up front with Marcus Rashford and Henrikh Mkhitaryan supporting the Belgium international for the visit of title rivals Tottenham.
However, the Manchester United boss was forced to turn to Martial from the bench and the France international scored the winner with nine minutes to go at Old Trafford.
Lukaku’s header teed up Martial before the 21-year-old beat two Tottenham defender before scoring his fourth Premier League goal of the season from the bench.
Former Manchester United defender Ferdinand was pleased to see Lukaku and Martial combine to unlock the Tottenham defence once again.
Ferdinand wrote on Twitter: “Professional performance from @ManUtd today… back on track after blip last weekend! @RomeluLukaku9 & @AnthonyMartial combining again!”
Manchester United are looking to win their first Premier League title since 2013 when Sir Alex Ferguson steered the Red Devils to their 20th top-flight crown.
The Red Devils won the Europa League and the League Cup under Mourinho last season.
