Ian Wright has claimed that Romelu Lukaku is on the road to greatness at Manchester United.

The Red Devils signed the Belgium international in a £75m deal from Premier League rivals Everton in the summer transfer window.

Lukaku opted to move to Manchester United ahead of a potential switch to his former club Chelsea.

The 24-year-old has wasted no time leaving his mark at Old Trafford following a return of seven goals in seven games in the 2017-18 Premier League season.

Lukaku scored his latest Premier League goal in a 4-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Old Trafford last weekend to continue his fine form.

The Belgian forward has transferred his domestic form to the Champions League as well.

Lukaku scored two goals in a 4-1 victory over CSKA Moscow in Russia last weekend to edge a step closer to the knockout round.

Former Arsenal striker Wright believes Lukaku is on course to establish himself as a Manchester United legend.

“Lukaku is on the road [to greatness],” Wright told BBC Radio 5 Live.

“He has got to the club where he wanted to be in terms of level and stature. He is another striker who is going to be going for winning things and legacy.”

Lukaku scored 25 goals in 36 appearances during his final season at Everton but was still four goals short of Harry Kane’s 29-goal haul.

Everton signed Lukaku in a £29m deal from Chelsea in 2014 before making a substantial profit with his £75m sale this summer.
