Manchester United are finally closing in on the signing of Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid this summer, according to reports in Spain.
Spanish newspaper Marca is reporting that the Red Devils have now tabled a €75m offer for the 24-year-old striker, leaving them just €5m short of Real Madrid’s asking price.
The same story states that because the two clubs are now so close to agreeing a fee, a deal could be concluded before Manchester United’s squad jet off to the United States for their pre-season tour on Sunday.
The story also claims that Morata and Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho have been in regular contact over the last few weeks as the striker closes in on a move to Old Trafford.
Morata has been relentlessly linked with a switch to Old Trafford in recent days as Mourinho looks to bolster his attacking options.
The Red Devils have been linked with a host of players this summer, but they have so far only signed defender Victor Lindelof from Benfica.
