Manchester United have joined the race to sign Marten De Roon from Middlesbrough this summer, say reports
Manchester United have joined the race for Marten De Roon’s signature this summer, according to reports in Italy.
Italian website Tutto Mercato Web is reporting that the Red Devils are in the hunt to bring the 26-year-old to Old Trafford from Middlesbrough this summer.
The same report is claiming that Manchester United could be set to rival the likes of Lazio and Atalanta for the signature of the midfielder.
It is also claimed that the Netherlands international could be available for around £8.8m this summer as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his midfield options.
The defensive midfielder scored four goals in 33 Premier League games for Middlesbrough last season and would represent a significantly cheaper option for the Red Devils this summer.
Manchester United have been linked with a number of players in De Roon’s position in recent weeks, including the likes of Nemanja Matic and Eric Dier.
The Red Devils are being linked with plenty of players this summer but they have so far only concluded a deal to sign defender Victor Lindelof from Benfica.
