Jose Mourinho has prioritised Nemanja Matic over Fabinho as Manchester United’s second signing this summer, according to reports in the British media.

The Manchester Evening News is reporting that Paris Saint-Germain are now leading the race to sign Fabinho from Monaco this summer and that Mourinho has instead told Red Devils chiefs to focus on trying to sign Matic from Chelsea.

The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a number of midfielders this summer as Mourinho looks to bolster his squad ahead of his side’s return to the Champions League next season.

And the report claims that Manchester United are now determined to try and bring 28-year-old Serbia midfielder Matic to Old Trafford from Chelsea.

Manchester United have been linked with a host of players this summer but have so far only completed the signing of defender Victor Lindelof from Benfica.

The Red Devils secured their return to the Champions League next season by winning the Europa League in Mourinho’s first campaign in charge at Old Trafford.
