Manchester United have held talks with Chelsea about the possibility of signing midfielder Nemanja Matic this summer, according to Kaveh Solhekol.
The Sky Sports News HQ reporter took to Twitter to reveal that the Red Devils have made contact with the Blues about bringing the 28-year-old midfielder to Old Trafford this summer.
The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a move to sign Matic in recent days as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his midfield options ahead of next season.
Now, journalist Solhekol has confirmed that Manchester United have held talks with Chelsea about Matic – although the Red Devils are also interested in signing Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan.
Solhekhol wrote on Twitter: “Man United have held talks about signing Nemanja Matic from Chelsea. One of midfield options they are considering. Nainggolan another.”
Manchester United are believed to be on the lookout for reinforcements in various positions this summer but the Red Devils have so far only confirmed the signing of defender Victor Lindelof from Benfica.
Mourinho, who worked with Matic during his time at Chelsea, is preparing his team for a return to the Champions League next season after their Europa League triumph last term.
