Luke Shaw reveals his delight at helping to fire Man United to a 2-1 win over Leicester City on Friday night

Luke Shaw has revealed his delight at helping to fire Manchester United to a 2-1 win over Leicester City in the Premier League on Friday night.
The left-back was handed a starting spot by Jose Mourinho and he netted the all-important second goal for the Red Devils as Manchester United kicked off the new Premier League season with a victory.
Shaw’s situation at Manchester United has been something of a source of speculation in recent months due to his lack of playing time under Mourinho last term.
However, the defender has been working hard on his fitness levels during the summer and was one of his team’s top performers against the Foxes on Friday night.
And Shaw has admitted his delight at getting on the scoresheet to help Manchester United claim all three points on Friday night.
Speaking to MUTV after the game, Shaw said: “For me, today, for my career so far, it was the best feeling I’ve felt.
“I was quick to react from my touch, got round him [Ricardo Pereira], swung my foot at it and it just sort of connected right and went into the bottom corner. From there, I just went and celebrated.
“Honestly I can’t describe it, in front of the Stretford End, it’s the best feeling I’ve had.
“I’m so proud and happy to be able to help the team. Hopefully I made my family proud tonight too with my first goal and hopefully I can push on forward and get many more and help the team out more.”
Manchester United will be looking to mount a serious Premier League title challenge this season as they bid to try and bounce back form their trophyless campaign last term.
The Red Devils only ended up signing Diogo Dalot, Fred and Lee Grant ahead of Mourinho’s third season in charge of the Old Trafford outfit.
