Luke Shaw is set to be sidelined for four weeks due to a hamstring injury, according to reports in the British media.

talkSPORT is reporting that the England defender is set to be out for around a month with the problem that he picked up during the 2-1 defeat by Crystal Palace in the Premier League at the weekend.

The same story says that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was initially hopeful that Shaw would be fit to return for the club’s next game against Southampton.

However, the article claims that scans have now revealed that the injury is more serious than first thought and he will be out for a number of weeks due to the problem.

The article says that Shaw’s injury means that Ashley Young will get another run in the side, with Diogo Dalot also currently sidelined.

Manchester United suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat by Crystal Palace in front of their home fans on Saturday as they slumped to their first Premier League defeat of the season.

The Red Devils – who finished sixth last term – will aim to try and get back to winning ways when they take on Southampton away from home on Saturday lunchtime.
