Chelsea signing to trigger £40m Man United transfer – report
Chelsea's expected signing of Tiemoue Bakayoko is to trigger the sale of Nemanja Matic to Manchester United, say reports

Chelsea’s expected signing of Tiemoue Bakayoko is likely to trigger a £40m move to Manchester United for Nemanja Matic, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Telegraph is claiming that the west London side are hoping to wrap up a deal for the Monaco midfielder this week as Antonio Conte looks to ramp up his side’s summer transfer business.
And the same story suggests that the arrival of Bakayoko at Stamford Bridge is likely to “signal” the departure of Matic to Manchester United in a deal worth around £40m.
Matic has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent days as Jose Mourinho looks to bolster his midfield options at Old Trafford.
The Serbia international would be likely to find his first-team opportunities to be limited next season should the Blues indeed complete a deal to sign Bakayoko in the coming days.
Matic knows Mourinho well, having won the Premier League and EFL Cup under the Portuguese coach at Chelsea during the 2014-15 season.
Manchester United have been linked with a host of players this summer but have so far only concluded a deal to sign Victor Lindelof from Benfica.
