Manchester United are set to confirm the signing of Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid this week, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish website Don Balon is reporting that the Red Devils are set to tie up a deal for the 24-year-old, who has been relentlessly linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks.

The same story claims that Manchester United have settled on a fee of around £61.5m (€70m) for the signing of the Spain striker.

Manchester United are set to jet off on their pre-season tour of the United States later this month and it would make sense that the Red Devils would try and tie up a deal for Morata as soon as possible.

Morata’s future has been a relentless source of speculation this summer due to his lack of playing time for Real Madrid last season.

The former Juventus forward was limited to less than 15 starts in La Liga for Zinedine Zidane’s men as Real Madrid won the title last season.

Manchester United have been linked with a host of players this summer but have so far only signed defender Victor Lindelof from Benfica.
