Angry Jose Mourinho demands respect after Man United defeat
Jose Mourinho cuts a frustrated figure after Man United's 3-0 loss to Tottenham on Monday
Jose Mourinho demanded “respect” from the media after Manchester United’s 3-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Monday night.
The Portuguese coach has come under scrutiny in recent weeks and his side were beaten by Spurs at Old Trafford to send them crashing to their second straight defeat of the season.
A goal from Harry Kane and two from Lucas Moura in the second half handed the Lilywhites all three points and left Manchester United with just three points to show from their opening three games this season.
Mourinho has cut a frustrated figure at Old Trafford in recent weeks and he has clearly been irked by the pressure his side have been under of late.
And the Portuguese coach was clearly not happy about the line of questioning from one reporter after the Red Devils’ latest defeat on Monday night.
Speaking at his post-match news conference at Old Trafford, Mourinho said: “I won more Premierships alone than the other 19 managers together.
“Three for me and two for them. Respect, respect, respect man.”
Manchester United will look to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they take on Burnley away from home next weekend.
The Red Devils are aiming to try and challenge for the title after finishing second and without a trophy last term.
