Jose Mourinho discusses the threat posed by the likes of Liverpool FC and Chelsea FC this season

Jose Mourinho has admitted that the likes of Liverpool FC and Chelsea FC have improved significantly – and that makes for a “difficult” season for Manchester United this term.
The Portuguese coach has just begun his third season in charge at Old Trafford following his appointment as Louis van Gaal’s successor back in 2016.
Manchester United ended up without a trophy last season as they finished in second place in the table and lost to Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final back in May.
Mourinho has now been tasked with steering Manchester United to a serious Premier League title challenge – but the landscape looks more competitive than ever, with the likes of Chelsea FC and Liverpool FC having made flying starts to the new campaign.
And Mourinho has admitted that the likes of Liverpool FC and Chelsea FC will pose serious threats to their title hopes this season.
Speaking at a news conference before the Premier League clash against Wolves, Mourinho said: “You see the level of the teams – you see the Liverpool squad, City squad, Chelsea squad, Tottenham squad, Arsenal improving.
“It’s going to be difficult.
“I am not saying that we are going to have more points than last season because last season we collected a very acceptable number of points.”
Manchester United will return to League Cup action on Tuesday night when they host Derby County in the third round.
The Red Devils will be aiming to challenge for silverware on all fronts this season, and they won both the League Cup and Europa League in Mourinho’s first campaign at the club.
