Jose Mourinho hints at significant January signings at Man United
Jose Mourinho hints that Man United are ready to spend big in the January transfer window

Jose Mourinho has hinted that Manchester United could spend big in the January transfer window to try and keep pace with Manchester City.
The Red Devils were held to another frustrating 2-2 draw with Burnley at Old Trafford on Boxing Day as they once again failed to secure the three points following their draw with Leicester last weekend.
Manchester United now find themselves a significant distance behind Manchester City in the race for the Premier League title and it seems that the Citizens are indeed out of sight at the top of the table.
Attentions will now inevitably turn towards the January transfer window and the plans Mourinho has to bolster his squad in the mid-season opportunity.
The Portuguese coach refused to confirm exactly what he would be doing next month but he admitted that the amount of money spent by the Red Devils in recent years is still not enough for them to compete with Manchester City at the moment.
Speaking at his post-match news conference on Tuesday, Mourinho said: “We are in the second year of trying to rebuild a football team that you know is not one of the best teams in the world.
“Manchester City buy full-backs for the price of strikers.
“[Spending £300m] is not enough. The price for the big clubs is different than for the other clubs. The big historical clubs are normally punished in the market because of that history,” he said.
“The boys are doing what they can and they are doing fine.”
Mourinho will be hoping to see his Manchester United team return to winning ways on Saturday when they take on Southampton at Old Trafford in the Premier League.
