‘He looks happier’: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer opens up on Man United star
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claims that Anthony Martial is looking "happier" at Man United this season
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has claimed that Anthony Martial is looking “happier” at Manchester United this season.
The France international, 23, has been moved back into the number nine position at Old Trafford since returning from injury and he is expected to hold that position for the coming weeks.
Manchester United have been left short on options up front following the exits of both Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez in the summer, and the Red Devils are likely to lean heavily on Martial for the rest of the season.
Solskjaer says that he has been delighted by what he has seen from the striker this season and he believes that he is having a positive influence on the dressing room at Old Trafford.
Speaking to Sky Sports before Saturday’s clash against Bournemouth, Solskjaer said: “Anthony looks happier.
“He’s such an infectious boy – his smile and his sense of humour. That rubs off on everyone. It’s great to see.”
He continued: “He is looking more and more like a player that wants to score goals and not just showing his tricks.
“He’s a player who has matured a lot, his behaviour on the training ground as well. I believe we’re going to see the best of him in the next few years.”
Martial will be expecting to feature for Manchester United when the Red Devils return to Premier League action next weekend with a home clash against Brighton and Hove Albion at Old Trafford.
Before that, the Red Devils are back in Europa League action with a home tie against Partizan Belgrade at Old Trafford on Thursday night.
Manchester United are aiming to try and break back into the top four this season after they finished sixth and without a trophy last term.
