Paul Merson makes prediction about Man United trophies this season
Paul Merson believes that Manchester United could end up winning an impressive cup double this season

Paul Merson believes that Manchester United could end up winning a Champions League and FA Cup double this season.
The Red Devils are more than halfway through their second season under Jose Mourinho following the Portuguese coach’s appointment at Old Trafford in the summer of 2016.
Manchester United will take on Sevilla in the last 16 of the Champions League on Tuesday night as they look to book their place in the quarter-finals of Europe’s elite club competition and after the 1-1 draw in the first leg.
The Red Devils will also then take on Brighton in the FA Cup quarter-finals next weekend as they look to try and win the competition this time around.
And former Arsenal star Merson feels that Manchester United could be on course to win a cup double in Mourinho’s second campaign in charge at the club.
Writing in his column for the Daily Star, Merson said: “United are still in the Champions League and the FA Cup, and they have a chance to win both those competitions. In a one-off game Jose Mourinho can beat anyone.
“It’s not their fault City have made everybody else look bad. Most of their rivals have made progress but they’ve found themselves so far behind it’s unreal.
“Fans get frustrated and no-one is under more pressure than Mourinho. He needs to win a trophy in my opinion. City have already won the League Cup and they’re going to win the league as well.”
Manchester United have not won the Premier League title their final triumph under Sir Alex Ferguson back in 2013 and it seems that they will have to wait at least another year after Manchester United’s dominance in the top flight this time around.
They did win both the Europa League and League Cup last term, though.
