Steve Nicol delivers verdict on Paul Pogba at Man United
Steve Nicol assesses the way Jose Mourinho has been treating Paul Pogba at Man United

Steve Nicol believes that Jose Mourinho is giving Paul Pogba “tough love” at Manchester United to try and bring the best out of the midfielder.
Pogba’s form for Manchester United has been a constant source of debate in recent months due to his stuttering form for the Red Devils.
The midfielder struggled to produce consistent displays for Manchester United last season and his performances were often called into question.
However, he was in much improved form at this summer’s World Cup in Russia as he helped France to win the trophy for the first time since 1998.
Mourinho has been vocal in his belief that Pogba must step his game up for Manchester United.
And Nicol feels that the Portuguese manager is simply trying to coax the best form out of the midfielder with his managerial approach.
Speaking to ESPN FC, Nicol said: “He is giving him tough love. He is clearly saying it is off field distractions.
“The distractions at Man United are way above that at Juventus. It is a clear message. Sort your problems off the pitch and it will work out on the field.”
Manchester United are still believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they look to build a squad capable of winning the title next season.
The Red Devils finished in second place in the Premier League table and without a trophy in Mourinho’s second campaign in charge of the Red Devils.
