Paul Scholes admits he’s not sure about this Man United player
Paul Scholes opens up about Luke Shaw's situation at Manchester United this season

Paul Scholes has admitted that he’s not sure whether Luke Shaw will be able to force his way into the first team at Manchester United this season on a regular basis.
The England defender was handed his first start of the season on Tuesday night as he helped Manchester United to seal a 2-1 win over CSKA Moscow and book their place in the last 16 of the Champions League as group winners.
Shaw has struggled for form and fitness since Mourinho’s appointment at Old Trafford in the summer of 2016 and he has not been able to enjoy a regular run in the first team.
In the meantime, Ashley Young has been performing brilliantly in the left wing-back position, and former Manchester United midfielder Scholes admits that he’s not sure if Shaw will be able to hold down a regular spot right now.
Speaking to BT Sport last week, Scholes said: “Can he get a run of 10 games in the team? I’m not sure.
“The problem he’s got is that Ashley Young’s done so well at left wing-back. You’d have to think there’s a future for him and I hope there’s a future for him.
“A couple of years ago I thought we were signing possibly the best left-back in the world.
“He’s had injury problems and fitness problems – but if you get him playing I think there’s a chance for him.”
Shaw will of course be hoping to be involved when Manchester United return to Premier League action on Sunday with a crunch clash against bitter local rivals Manchester City at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils head into the game knowing that a win would leave them five points behind their bitter local rivals in the table.
