Jose Mourinho reacts to Paul Pogba’s display in Man United v Leicester
Jose Mourinho praises Paul Pogba for his performance for Man United against Leicester City

Jose Mourinho heaped praise on Paul Pogba for producing a “monster” performance in Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Leicester City on Friday night.
The French midfielder captained the Red Devils from the start despite only having recently returned to Old Trafford following his exploits at the World Cup with France.
Pogba netted a penalty for the Red Devils as he helped Mourinho’s men get their campaign off to a solid start with a victory over the Foxes in front of their home fans.
The 25-year-old’s future has been a constant talking point all summer due to his apparently frosty relationship with Mourinho.
However, the Portuguese coach seemed to be delighted with Pogba’s performance as he helped the Red Devils begin their new campaign on a positive note.
Speaking at his post-match news conference, Mourinho said: “Pogba was a monster. We thought maximum [he would play] 60 minutes, but he managed more than 80.
“It was not a hard decision [to start Pogba], the decision was down to him. With Ander Herrera injured, I had only two options, Scott McTominay or Pogba.
“If I played Scott, I would have two kids and a new player [Fred] in midfield. So I asked Paul and he put himself forward for the team and was very, very good for us.”
Manchester United will be aiming to challenge for the Premier League title this season after they ended up in second spot and without a trophy last term.
The Red Devils have not won the Premier League trophy since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement back in 2013, although they did win the League Cup and Europa League back in 2016-17.
