Man United summer signing fires message to his critics
Romelu Lukaku feels that he deserves more respect for his form for Manchester United

Romelu Lukaku feels that he deserves more respect for the start he has made to his Manchester United career.
The Belgian striker has been settling into life at Old Trafford following his move to the club from Everton last July.
Lukaku has had his fair share of criticism this season but he impressed with a man of the match display as he scored one and set up the other in Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Chelsea FC on Sunday afternoon at Old Trafford.
The 24-year-old has scored 21 goals in all competitions for Jose Mourinho’s men this term and has also notched up six assists for his team-mates.
And the Belgian forward believes that he deserves more respect for the way he has been performing in his first six months at Old Trafford.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Lukaku said: “I’ve been in the game for so long.
“I started playing when I was 16. Year in, year out people expect 20 goals from me. I’ve been doing it for 10 years straight, so I think I’ve proved myself.
“You expect a bit more respect but it’s the situation we’re in. I don’t listen to it. I just want to improve and show the people what I can do on the pitch.”
Lukaku will be expecting to feature for Manchester United when the Red Devils return to Premier League action on Monday night with a trip to Crystal Palace.
Sunday’s win over Chelsea FC lifted Manchester United back above Liverpool FC and up into second place in the Premier League table.
The Red Devils finished in sixth place in the Premier League table under Mourinho last term.
