Roy Keane says Man United need to spend big in the summer transfer window
Roy Keane believes that Manchester United need to make “three or four” major signings in the summer transfer window to turn around their stuttering form.
The Red Devils are currently digesting the disappointment of their surprise Champions League exit at the hands of Sevilla at Old Trafford on Tuesday night as they lost 2-1 to the La Liga outfit in front of their home fans.
That surprise defeat has left Jose Mourinho’s men playing for the FA Cup and a top-four finish in the Premier League this season as they bid to try and end the campaign on a high.
With Manchester United’s recent disappointing form, attentions will now inevitably begin to turn towards the summer transfer window and the potential signings the Red Devils could make.
And Red Devils legend Keane believes that Manchester United should look to bring in at least three new players this summer to rejuvenate their squad.
Speaking in an interview with ITV Sport, Keane said: “He [Mourinho] knows they are short, we have seen that for the last three of four years.
“I know people say that [more signings] aren’t always the answer, but they are short three or four players and some of the players playing for Manchester United are not good enough.
“If they are selected they will play, but they are not good enough.”
Manchester United are currently preparing for their return to FA Cup action and their quarter-final clash against Brighton and Hove Albion at Old Trafford on Saturday night.
The Red Devils are currently in second place in the Premier League table.
