Ryan Giggs sends message to Man United fans about Marcus Rashford
Ryan Giggs sees similarities between Marcus Rashford and Arsenal legend Thierry Henry
Ryan Giggs has drawn comparisons between Marcus Rashford and Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.
The teenager has earned a reputation as one of the Premier League’s most exciting young talents after breaking into the first team at Manchester United under Louis van Gaal.
Rashford will be hoping to help Manchester United challenge for major honours this season as the Red Devils focus on Jose Mourinho’s second season at the club.
The 19-year-old has scored one goal and made one assist in three Premier League games for Manchester United so far this season to help Mourinho’s men lead the way at the top of the table.
And Manchester United legend Giggs has claimed that Rashford reminds him of former Arsenal star Henry with his style of play.
Speaking on ITV on Friday night, Giggs said: “He can definitely play out wide, but eventually he’s going to be a No 9.
“I see similarities with Thierry Henry myself, he’s brilliant off the left.
“Even if he’s playing centre-forward, he drifts off to the left where you can take players on either side.
“But then, if he’s not played centre-forward a lot and all of a sudden Kane gets injured and you ask him to play up front, he can do it.
“Like you say, he’s not going to play centre-forward of United too often with Lukaku, Ibrahimovic as well.”
Rashford will be expecting to feature for Manchester United when the Red Devils return to Premier League action after the international break with a trip to Stoke City on Saturday.
The Red Devils are currently flying high at the top of the Premier League table, after having won all three of their opening games.
Manchester United have not won the Premier League title since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement back in 2013.
