Ryan Giggs: This is how many new signings Man United need
Ryan Giggs opens up about the signings he thinks Man United need to make next year
Ryan Giggs believes that Manchester United need another five new signings to get back to where they want to be in the Premier League.
It has been a stuttering start to the season for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in his first full campaign in charge of the Red Devils.
Solskjaer was initially brought in on an interim basis last December following the sacking of Jose Mourinho, and he was given the job on a permanent basis in March of this year after impressing in his first few months in charge.
The Norwegian made three main signings this summer, bringing in Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James.
However, former Manchester United midfielder Giggs feels that the Red Devils are probably in need of another five additions as the January transfer window draws nearer.
Speaking in an interview with The Sun, Giggs said: “I see what Ole is doing and I support that.
“He’s brought in three players but he probably needs seven or eight.
“So he needs another four or five. But you can’t do that over one transfer window, so you have to be patient because it will be slow. ‘What he is trying to do was much needed. He needs time.”
Manchester United will return to Premier League action after the international break when they take on Liverpool FC at Old Trafford on Sunday 20 October.
The Red Devils are aiming to try and break back into the top four this season after they finished sixth and without a trophy under Solskjaer last term.
