Manchester United could be set to benefit from the uncertainty surrounding Samuel Umtiti’s future at FC Barcelona, according to reports in Spain.
Spanish outlet Don Balon is reporting that talks between the 24-year-old defender and FC Barcelona about a new contract have stalled, which has prompted fresh speculation about his future beyond the summer.
The same report says that Luis Suarez is convinced that Umtiti will be leaving the Camp Nou this summer as the uncertainty about his future rumbles on.
The story says that both Manchester United and Juventus are among the clubs to hold an interest in signing Umtiti from FC Barcelona this summer.
According to the same report, Umtiti would be available for just €60m this summer due to the release clause written into his contract.
He has been a regular fixture in the first team at Camp Nou so far this season, and he has made 21 appearances in La Liga for the Spanish side.
Manchester United are likely to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as Jose Mourinho looks to put together a squad capable of challenging for the Premier League title next season.
The Red Devils are currently in second place in the Premier League table.
