Jose Mourinho has called on Scott McTominay to remain “humble” as he continues to impress in the Manchester United team.
The youngster has been in fine form for Mourinho’s men this season whenever called upon and he has been earning plenty of praise for his mature performances in the Red Devils side.
The 21-year-old has made six appearances in the Premier League for the Red Devils so far this season and has been showing maturity beyond his years with his assured displays.
McTominay will once again be hoping to feature for Manchester United when the Red Devils return to Premier League action on Monday night with a trip to Crystal Palace.
And the Manchester United manager had some special advice for the 21-year-old ahead of Monday’s game.
Speaking at his news conference at Carrington on Friday evening, Mourinho said: “My advice is to keep the way he is.
“Very humble. Very open to learn. Intelligent. He must fight to have minutes.”
Manchester United head into Monday’s game after their impressive 2-1 comeback victory over Chelsea FC in the Premier League last weekend.
The Red Devils came from behind to overturn Chelsea FC’s lead and beat the defending champions at Old Trafford to take another big step towards securing a top-four finish in the top flight.
Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last season.
