Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reveals Man United summer transfer plans
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists that he'll have the final say on transfers at Man United this summer
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has insisted that he will have the final say on transfers at Manchester United this summer.
The Red Devils are bound to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks and months as Solskjaer begins to think about bolstering his squad for next season.
It has been a largely disappointing season for Manchester United, with the Red Devils currently in sixth place in the Premier League table and facing an uphill battle to break back into the top four.
Manchester United will look to bring in some big names this summer to bolster their squad – and they are also likely to let a number of players go.
With the Red Devils set to miss out on a place in the Champions League as things stand, there have been questions about the club’s ability to attract the top players this summer.
However, Solskjaer has also insisted that the lure of playing for Manchester United will remain big whether they are in the Champions League or not.
Speaking in an interview quoted by talkSPORT, Solskjaer said: “I’ll have a final say if players come in or go out, yeah, and we’ve got regular meetings.
“I’m happy with the way it’s going. We’re supposed to sign 250 players… hopefully we can get players in that you haven’t written about as well. You never know.”
He continued: “We might not be (in the Champions League) and you would be surprised how many agents have been touting their players… not touting, it’s just like telling us that their players, their clients would love to be a part of Man United in the future.
“That’s just the lure of Man United because (players) know, with the potential here, the size of the club, that we will in the end get back to good days.”
Manchester United will return to Premier League action on Sunday when they travel to Huddersfield Town.
