Belgian reporter: Man United could sign 29-year-old on deadline day
Man United could complete a deal to sign Toby Alderweireld on deadline say, according to Kristof Terreur

Manchester United could complete a deal to sign Toby Alderweireld from Tottenham Hotspur on deadline day, according to Belgian reporter Kristof Terreur.
The Red Devils have been strongly linked with a move to bring the Tottenham defender to Old Trafford all summer as Jose Mourinho looks to try and bolster his options at the back ahead of his third campaign in charge.
However, despite all of the speculation, Manchester United are still not believed to have agreed a fee with Spurs ahead of the impending transfer deadline on Thursday.
Premier League clubs have until 17:00 on Thursday to complete their incoming transfer before the new season gets under way on Friday night.
Now, Belgian reporter Terreur has claimed that if Manchester United are to sign Alderweireld, it is likely to be in a deadline day deal.
Speaking on the Sky Sports Transfer Talk podcast, Terreur said: “If there is a deal, it will be a deadline day deal.”
Manchester United will be looking to be one of the main contenders for the Premier League title next season as they look to try and win the trophy for the first time since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement back in 2013.
The Red Devils finished in second place and without a trophy in Mourinho’s second campaign last season.
