Sky Sports reporter updates Man United fans on link to signing Belgian
Man United have yet to make a formal bid for Toby Alderweireld, according to Michael Bridge

Manchester United are yet to make a formal offer to sign Toby Alderweireld from Tottenham Hotspur this summer, according to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge.
The Red Devils have been strongly linked with a move to bring the Belgian defender to Old Trafford this summer as Jose Mourinho looks to strengthen his rearguard options ahead of next season.
Manchester United finished in second place in the Premier League table last term but missed out on a trophy after they were beaten by Chelsea FC in the FA Cup final back in May.
Alderweireld’s future at Tottenham has been a constant source of speculation this summer due to his lack of playing time under Maurizio Pochettino at White Hart Lane last term.
Now, Sky Sports reporter Bridge has said that Manchester United are yet to make a formal bid or hold formal talks about a move to sign Alderweireld this summer, despite the speculation.
Speaking on the Sky Sports Transfer Talk podcast, Bridge said: “Man United have been interested in Alderweireld all summer.
“It is a strained relationship with Pochettino. There is yet to be any formal talks or offers.”
Manchester United have signed Diogo Dalot, Fred and Lee Grant so far this summer as they prepare for Mourinho’s third season in charge at the club.
The Red Devils will kick off the new season with a home clash against Leicester City on Friday night.
