Ian Wright suggests Man United could sign 28-year-old Tottenham star
Ian Wright explains why Toby Alderweireld would be a great signing for Manchester United
Ian Wright has suggested that Toby Alderweireld would be a great signing for Manchester United in the January transfer window.
The Red Devils are bound to be linked with a host of players in the coming weeks as the January transfer window draws ever nearer and Jose Mourinho considers adding to his Manchester United squad.
Manchester United have been in good form this season but that still has not been enough to compete with Manchester City, who are flying high at the top of the Premier League table and are currently 12 points ahead of the Red Devils.
Alderweireld is widely considered to be one of the top defenders in the Premier League, with the 28-year-old having made 16 appearances in all competitions for Spurs this season.
Manchester United could be on the lookout for a new defender in the January transfer window and Arsenal legend Wright has suggested that a move for Alderweireld would be a top decision for the Red Devils.
Speaking to BBC Radio 5 live, Wright said: “Alderweireld could go anywhere.
“He could play for any club. He could play for Real Madrid. He could play for Barcelona. He could play for Manchester United.”
Manchester United are currently preparing for their Premier League clash against Leicester City on Saturday night as they look to try and keep pace with Manchester City at the top of the table.
