Man United backed to sign 26-year-old by Wayne Rooney
Wayne Rooney feels that Harry Maguire would be a good signing for Man United this summer

Wayne Rooney believes that Manchester United would be signing a “good player” if they land Harry Maguire from Leicester City this summer.
The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a move to bring the 26-year-old centre-half to Old Trafford this summer as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to strengthen his squad ahead of next season.
However, Manchester United have so far been unable agree a fee with Leicester City, who are thought to be reluctant to let one of their star players leave the King Power Stadium.
It remains to be seen whether Manchester United will be able to get a deal over the line for Maguire before the season gets under way in a little over a week’s time.
But former Manchester United star Rooney feels that the England international would be a good addition to the Red Devils squad if they can get a deal done before the transfer deadline next week.
Speaking in an interview with ESPN FC, Rooney said: “Yeah I think Harry’s a good player.
“Over the last few years he’s improved and got better and he’s been a main player for Leicester City but also for England.
“I think he’d be a good signing if they can get him.”
Rooney also went on to comment on Paul Pogba’s future at Manchester United.
He continued: “Should they [sell him]? It’s obviously down to the club, the board, the manager but also the player,” he said.
“I think if the player wants to stay, he’ll stay and prove what a good player he is.
“Again I think behind the scenes I’m sure they’re working on ways whether it’s to keep him or to let him go.”
Manchester United will kick off their Premier League campaign with a home clash against Chelsea FC on Sunday 11 August.
