Wayne Rooney offers advice to Man United about summer signings
Wayne Rooney has his say on the type of signings Man United should be making this summer

Wayne Rooney doesn’t believe that Manchester United should spend big on signing one or two players in the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils are likely to be linked with a host of players this summer as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been tasked with adding some quality to his squad this summer after the Red Devils finished in sixth place in the Premier League and without a trophy last term.
Manchester United confirmed their first signing of the summer last week after they agreed a deal with Swansea City to sign midfielder Daniel James.
It remains to be seen who else Manchester United will bring in this summer – but former Red Devils star Rooney doesn’t feel that his former employers need to splash too much cash ahead of next season.
Speaking in an interview with BBC Radio 5 live, Rooney said: “It’s tricky of course but I think for Ole the first thing he’s got to try to do is build a squad.
“I don’t think bringing in one or two players for over £100m is going to really help with the squad and with the players who are there.
“I think he needs to try and look at five or six players who have got potential to be top players but you’re not spending £100m, £120m, £130m on these players.
“I think you’re spending £30m, £40m and then trying to improve them, which will also give you longevity out of the players and allow you to build a squad around the five or six new players who come in plus a few of the players who are still there.”
Manchester United have not won the Premier League title since 2013, when Rooney was still playing for the Red Devils.
They handed Solskjaer the manager’s job on a permanent basis back in March after he was initially brought in on an interim basis following the sacking of Jose Mourinho in December.
